In what context is it appropriate to say ‘it is easier to destroy than create'?

in many. for example, it may take a city decades to build, like towers and all that, and build up their economy and population and whatnot, and it can take like, twenty seconds for an earthquake to destroy it all. and say you were knitting a jumper, it can take weeks and weeks for you to knit it up, and all it takes is just one snag for the yarn to break while you're wearing it or something, for it all to fall apart.
