Is the mother role dead?

Being a mother, mother-n-law and grandmother I see more mothers today interested in being a friend than a mother. A lot of women are living through their daughters, things they didn't are couldn't do when they young they make their daughters do. But I also see a lot of good mothers that spend time teaching their children important values in life, enjoying life with their children and making them feel loved. Everyone mothers differently. There just aren't a lot of mothers that get to stay ay home and raise their children at this time.
